Juice Pairing Menu Introduces Hot New Culinary Craze in Singaporean Style at The Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers' Satay Inn

Health-conscious trend matching menu of signature favourites with exotic fruit and veg juice blends

Hong Kong, August 29, 2017– The Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers’ acclaimed Singaporean restaurant Satay Inn has introduced a novel menu showcasing the hip new culinary craze of juice pairing.

Matching dishes with juice is a health-conscious trend highlighting flavours and nuances just like the perfect wine.

The non-alcoholic pairing concept was trailblazed by two-Michelin Star chef Rene Redzepi at Noma in Denmark, ranked Best Restaurant in the World four times in the last seven years.

It has since become the latest culinary vogue sweeping restaurants worldwide.

“But the pairing trend is far more sophisticated than a simple glass of orange or apple juice,” says Kenneth Yuen, Executive Chef at The Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers. “It introduces fruit and veg blends, herbal infusions and exotic aromatics for complex layers of flavour designed to complement ingredients on the plate – just like wine.”

Satay Inn is presenting an entire 5-course, HK$388 menu pairing freshly-made juices with much-loved signatures of its spicy Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine. (A minimum of two persons)

Appetiser Platter of ‘Street Food’ favourites Pork Satay, Hokkien Popiah and Shrimp Paste Chicken is paired with a refreshing blend of Cucumber, Parsley and Lemon. Cucumber considers as superb health food, which reduces cholesterol and supplies skin-friendly minerals too.

Hearty, spicy Deep-fried Crispy Curry Beef Brisket is matched with a vitamin-rich

libation of Beetroot, Carrot, Apple and Lemon. Beetroot's deep, overpoweringly red juice has earned the reputation as the most bossy of vegetables, which provides good source of iron and lower blood pressure.

Baked Sea Bass Steak with Sambal Sauce is complimented by a sweet and sour concoction of Pomegranate, Passion Fruit and Honey. Pomegranates are among the healthiest fruits on earth and loaded with important nutrients as well as help improve memory. Another signature dishes from Singapore cuisine, Butter Cereal King Prawns are paired with Pear, Kiwi fruit and Apple, with the spicy ‘superfood’ flaxseed. Kiwi is not just an ordinary fruit but a powerhouse of antioxidants to inducing sleep.

Dessert of Pandan Chiffon Cake luxuriates with the fruity delights of Pandan syrup and Coconut Ice-Cream, rather than paired with a juice.

“Non-alcoholic pairing makes sense because there is no reason why juice shouldn’t match perfectly with food,” added Kenneth.

“It doesn't matter what’s in your glass. Beer, wine or juice - the concept is just the same. It’s another ingredient, like a sauce or condiment, designed to allow non-drinkers the same opportunity to enjoy a delicious, perfectly matched beverage with their food as drinkers. So whether someone chooses alcohol or not, we offer an amazing dining experience.”

The menu is initially served as a promotion from now till November 31, 2017.
