City Garden Hotel’s Chinese Restaurant YUÈ Celebrates 10th Anniversary

10 Exquisite Dishes Showcase the Spirit of Cantonese Culinary Art

(Hong Kong, 29 May 2018) City Garden Hotel’s Chinese restaurant YUÈ, a one Michelin-starred restaurant from 2012-2016, celebrates its 10th anniversary this June. To commemorate this milestone, the award-winning restaurant proudly presents ten refined dishes, available from 15 June to 31 July 2018, to showcase the essence of Cantonese cooking as a salute to the spirit of Cantonese culinary art.

Among the eight major regional cuisines in China, Cantonese cuisine is considered the most artful and complex. Focusing on seasonality, freshness, natural flavour, heat and ‘wok qi’, the ultimate goals of Cantonese cooking are to embody colour, texture, aroma and taste in the final product. Executive Chinese Chef Lai Ching Shing of YUÈ has prepared ten exquisite delicacies using ten different cooking methods which best demonstrate the principles of Cantonese cuisine in honour of YUÈ 10th anniversary.

Featured delicacies include:
1. Pan-fried fish maw with rich almond sauce (HK$268 per person)
2. Slow-braised abalone and goose web (HK$238 per person)
3. Steamed lobster with egg white and Huadiao wine* (HK$328 per person)
4. Stir-fried prawn with “jade” vegetables (HK$168 per person)
5. Double-boiled giant marbled eel-head with Tian Ma in soup (HK$688)
6. Simmered Wagyu beef cheek with porcini mushrooms (HK$378)
7. Deep-fried crispy Yunnan ham (HK$238)
8. Braised crab meat with winter melon pearls* (HK$488)
9. Quick-braised pigeon and fresh peaches in clay pot (HK$218)
10. “Braise in layers” pork belly and giant marbled eel with garlic (HK$568)

For a sweet and happy finale, Chef Lai invites diners to indulge in the traditional “Sweetened Seaweed Cream” (HK$58 per person). A popular dessert served at birthday banquets back in the 1950s and 1960s, this delightful treat symbolises “longevity”.

The above celebratory dishes are available during lunch and dinner. To mark the occasion, guests can enjoy up to 20% discount on this special menu.

Guests who dine on the anniversary day (15 June 2018) can also enjoy an exclusive offer of $10 tea charge per person. Guests who order one of the Father’s Day set menus on 16 and 17 June 2018 will receive a complimentary jar of homemade XO sauce^.
